What is Massage?…

Massage is the manipulation of soft tissues namely muscles, tendons and ligaments. Manipulation is achieved via the therapist using their fingers, thumbs, hands forearms and body weight. The ultimate aim of these treatment is to promote ease and reinstate musculoskeletal balance.

Sports Massage

Sports massage treatment aims to promote sports performance, relieve muscular tension, prevent injuries and equally rehabilitate specific injuries, ultimately restoring musculoskeletal balance. Sports massage can be used to treat specific conditions/injuries or used as a maintenance treatment complimenting training regimes

Remedial massage

This type of massage is used to treat soft tissue complaints: aches, pain, muscular imbalances or stress relief. Deep tissue techniques are employed to manipulate and stretch the tissues to promote ease and restore function.

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is used to alleviate tensions in soft tissues and promote relaxation throughout the body via light to the medium pressure techniques. Treatment can be used to reduce tension and promote wellbeing.

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage involves various techniques to promote relaxation and relieve tension around the upper back, shoulders, neck, head and face.

What to Expect…

Your first session will comprise of a consultation obtaining medical history and a postural assessment concentrating on joint range of movement and musculoskeletal function.

  • Oil or cream is used as a massage medium in order to reduce friction on skin therefore removal of clothing is required.

  • Undergarments are worn throughout the treatment and a towel technique is applied in order to protect modesty.

  • Massage treatment techniques can be applied to part body or full body.
